Your adventure
stays on your PC.
Effective date: 13 September 2026. This notice describes the ZERO Ouroboros Windows game and its edition-selection launcher. It is separate from TalkToAI's online AI products.
Who to contact
ZERO Ouroboros is published by TalkToAI (Microsoft Store publisher: talktoai). For privacy questions, support, or data-rights requests, contact shaf@talktoai.org. The TalkToAI privacy policy provides wider information about the website and operator's services.
What the game stores locally
- Campaign progress, choices, free-play and settlement state, selected character and ship, and lesson progress.
- Graphics, audio, sensitivity and control preferences, plus local backup files used to recover saved progress.
- The launcher reads GPU name/driver, CPU name and available memory locally to recommend an edition. It stores the selected edition and a startup marker locally.
The game and launcher do not automatically upload those saves, hardware details or preferences to TalkToAI. They contain no game advertising or built-in analytics upload, and do not require a TalkToAI account, microphone, camera or an online language-model service. ZERO's dialogue and behaviour are authored or programmed game content.
Storage, retention and deletion
Standalone game data uses %APPDATA%\OuroborosProtocol; the launcher uses %LOCALAPPDATA%\OuroborosProtocol\Launcher. Windows may redirect data for a Store installation into package-managed storage. Saves remain on your device until you remove them; do not assume uninstalling removes every save, backup or exported report.
To remove standalone data, close the game and launcher, back up any progress you want to keep, then remove the named game-data folders. For a Store installation, use Windows Settings → Apps → ZERO Ouroboros → Advanced options → Reset where Windows offers it. Resetting deletes app data and can erase progress. Contact support if you need help locating the data for your installation.
Microsoft Store and Windows
Microsoft handles Store accounts, purchases, downloads, licensing and its own service or operating-system diagnostics. Those activities are governed by Microsoft's privacy statement and your Windows settings. TalkToAI does not receive your payment-card details through the game. This notice does not claim that Windows or the Store collects no information.
If you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer the request, diagnose an issue and maintain necessary support records. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing and securing support, or performing a contract where the request relates to your purchase; legal obligations may also apply.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, manage related disputes, secure the service or meet legal record-keeping obligations. Necessary email/hosting service providers may process it on our behalf; disclosures may also be required by law. Wider service-provider and international-processing information is in the TalkToAI privacy policy. Send only relevant information: never send passwords, keys, payment-card details or unrelated personal files. A diagnostic report is shared only if you choose to send it.
This website and other services
The game announcement and privacy pages use no analytics script, tracking pixel, sign-up form, embedded video, third-party font, or game-account cookie. The web server can still record technical access and security information such as IP address, browser, requested URL and time. Website logs, retention criteria and related rights are covered by the website privacy policy. Following a link to another service is governed by that service's own notice. Any future browser demo will explain browser storage and hosting behaviour before launch.
Your rights
For personal information held by TalkToAI, you may request access, correction or deletion, and may have rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability, depending on the circumstances and legal basis. We may need proportionate verification to protect your information. We cannot access or delete local game saves on your PC remotely. Contact the email above to exercise your rights or raise a concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data-protection authority.
The game does not use personal information to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or to build advertising profiles. If game data handling changes, we will update this notice and its effective date.
