- Read before changing. Check the README, license, contribution instructions and current issues. A public repository is not necessarily permission for every commercial use.
- Choose one outcome. A documentation fix, a reproducible issue or a small feature with clear behavior is easier to review.
- Keep your work reviewable. Record the source revision and dependencies. Explain what changed and provide the checks you actually ran.
